Hameed Al Qaed

Hameed Al QaedBahraini poet and translator with two published poetry collections, Lover in the Era of Thirst, in 1975, and Noise of Whisper, in 2003. The second, which included English translations of the work made by the writer, won the Distinguished Book Award.

His third book, Book of Violets, will be published shortly and is also a bilingual collection of poetry (Arabic/English). Many of his poems and other work have been published in Arabic newspapers, magazines and periodicals. He has also taken part in many poetry recitals in Bahrain and overseas.

He has translated many English and American poems, short stories and essays into Arabic, including the well-known “Van Gogh Letters” which he translated from English to Arabic. He also Translated “Nooran” novel, by Bahraini writer Farid Ramadan, as part of a joint graphic work with Jamal Abdul Rahim, a famous Bahraini artist.
