Phoebe Boswell

Phoebe BoswellKenyan-born artist Phoebe spent her childhood years as an expatriate in the Middle East, first in Oman and then Bahrain, where her family continues to reside. At sixteen she moved to England after receiving an art scholarship to the arts-based Sixth Form college Hurtwood House in Surrey.

As an artist, her work plays with notions of the duality of human existence and renders itself in a variety of forms, from traditional oil painting to intricate narrative 2D vinyl installations cut with knives. Most recently, she published her first book of drawn and written portraits entitled Bahrainona: Drawing from Life.

She is currently preparing for her next project which will take her to the Loita Hills of Kenya where she will collaborate with NGO Saru Enkiteng in gathering and documenting the histories of descendents of the Enkidongi Maasai clan of East Africa.
